KIMS Hospital, Secunderabad, has launched the ‘WalkFree’ awareness initiative in collaboration with the Urgo Foundation to raise awareness about chronic venous leg ulcers and the challenges faced by people living with venous disorders.

Led by Dr. Narendra Nath Meda, Clinical Director, KIMS Group of Hospitals and Vascular Surgeon, the initiative highlights the impact of chronic leg ulcers, which can result from impaired blood flow in the veins and may take prolonged periods to heal. The programme focuses on improving awareness about varicose veins, venous disorders and chronic leg ulcers, while educating patients and caregivers about specialized compression bandages that can support venous circulation and ulcer healing.

Through WalkFree, healthcare professionals and the wider community are being encouraged to recognize chronic leg ulcers early, understand their impact on mobility and quality of life, and seek appropriate medical care.
